The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described Thursday’s purported sitting and oath-taking of twelve lawmakers-elect of the Edo state House of Assembly as a tragicomedy.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan in a tweet on Thursday alleged that the twelve anti-Obaseki lawmakers sat in the parlour of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Ologbondiyan regretted that, “twenty-one years into our contemporary democracy, a set of clowns will go and gather in a private residence purporting, in their dreams, that they are holding a legislative session”
The twelve lawmakers-elect of the Edo state House of Assembly, who were not inaugurated in June 2019 when the current House started were reported to have taken their oath of office at a hidden location in Benin, the state capital, on Thursday.
