The trio of Hon. Nimizuoa Uroupaye (JP), (Yenagoa City), Hon. Alele Embeleako Prosper (Sagbama) and Hon. Ebinyo Marvin Turner (Ogbia) of Bayelsa State local government respectively on Thursday, made their state proud at the 2020 edition of Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award, winning three out of the 18 categories of the awards presented.
The award ceremony which took place at the main auditorium of National Merit Award, Maitama, is the 19th edition of the awards organized by the Mentors Communications Ltd.
Yenagoa City Council Boss; Hon. Nimizuoa Uroupaye won best local government chairman award on infrastructure.
Hon. Alale E. Prosper Chairman Sagbama local won overall best in rural health care delivery while Hon. Ebinyo M. Turner went home with overall best in security.
Earlier before the award presentation, Mr. Taite, National Coordinator LOGMA /CEO Mentors communications Ltd in his welcome address, said the award was held annually to identify and honour local government chairmen who have distinguished themselves in developing sectors of the economy resulting in positive transformation of their respective localities.
The total number of 18 local government chairmen across the federation received different categories of awards at this year’s edition of LOGMA Award.
