A total number of 2,860 Nigerians across the federation have been reportedly kidnapped in the year 2020 by the men of underworld.
Out of the total number, Kastina State, which is the owned state of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of Nigeria, has recorded the highest cases with 888 kidnappees.
This is distantly followed by Kaduna 341, Borno 300, Niger 278, Zamfara 183, Nasarawa120 and FCT 106.
Others state with alarming numbers are Delta 68, Ondo 66, Edo 57, Anambra 56, Taraba 53, Kogi, Rivers 44, Plateau 35 Adamawa 31 and Cross River 27
Perpetration of this criminality in some states has been relatively under control such as Benue 17, Oyo 15, Kwara 13, Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti and Jigawa 12, Sokoto and Imo 10, Ebonyi 9, Kano and Abia 8, Kebbi 7.
Others are Yobe and Bauchi 4, Bayelsa and Enugu 3, Akwa Ibom and Osun 2.
