Ahead tomorrow’s Saturday March 6th Local Government election in Delta state, two prominent members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at Imodje ward II in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state have dumped the party to join All Progressive Congress, APC.
The decampees who spoke with NewsportalTv immediately after the APC strategic meeting of the party’s stakeholders at the ward were; Goodday Okagbare and Moses Ishara who made their decamp in the presence of APC members under leadership of the High Chief from Umodje-Orogun clan and leader of the APC in the area, Chief Emmanuel Ogobene (JP).
Sitting the reasons for their new decision to dump the former party, the two decampees said that the developmental projects enjoying presently in the community was personal efforts of the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege to the community, particularly in the provision of electricity, solar street light and other social infrastructures which have eluded the area for a long time convinced them enough to join APC.
According to them, they are going to work for the success of APC at the tomorrow’s poll because they have been in the PDP for long without seeing any impact of the party in the community.
Speaking earlier at ceremony, Chief Emmanuel Obogene said that no member of the community has not felt the huge contributions of the Deputy Senate President, Sen.Ovie Omo-Agege since he has been representing his people in the Parliament.
He said DSP value his people so much and that is the reason he provided them dividend of democracy.
He therefore expressed his happiness to have received the decampees in the APC because they have left darkness to join the light.
