The Secretary, Sokoto State Independent Electoral Commission, (SIEC), Mr. Nasiru Yahaya Isa has been awarded by the Independent Media Forum (IMF) Abuja at the SIEC office in Sokoto.
The award was presented to Mr. Isa as a result of his superlative performance resulted to hitch free, fair and credible election in the just concluded Sokoto State local government poll.
The award plaque presented exclusively reads, “Commendation Award presented to Nasiru Yahaya Isa for Superintending Over the Successful Conduct of Sokoto State Local Government Election 2021”.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Yahaya Isa appreciated Sokoto State electorates for coming out en masse and cast their votes in spit of security challenges in the state.
” My message is…we are thankful, we appreciate their good turnout and being orderly despite the security problem in Sokoto State, people turnout and vote. We are very grateful”.
While responding to the award added to his cap, the amiable SIEC’s Secretary said he was so delighted to have been honoured.
“I am delighted, very delighted”.
Earlier, Comrade Christian Ochapa, who led the team of IMF Abuja to the premises of the SIEC explained that the team went round some of the local government areas and discovered that the election under the supervision of Mr. Nasiru Yahaya Isa, was well coordinated by the state electoral umpire, despite the withdrawal of main opposition (APC) from the poll.
