FCT LG ELECTION: WE ARE ON COURSE TO CONDUCT CREDIBLE PRIMARY IN SPITE INEC SHORT NOTICE – ENGR. UMAR ADAJI, APC PUBLICITY SECRETARY, FCT.

FCT Chapter of All Progressive Congress, APC, has assured the members and all aspirants vying for elective positions in the forthcoming FCT local government poll that the party would conduct free, fair and credible primaries despite the short notice guidelines released by electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral commission, INEC.

The party made this assurance at the end of emergency meeting of APC FCT party Exco on Monday at the party Secretariat.

While speaking with the newsmen shortly after the meeting, Engr. Umar Adaji, State Publicity Secretary said the party is on course to conduct its primaries that would be devoid of rancour among the members and aspirants contesting in the primaries with promise to give every stakeholder a sense of belonging and in accordance with the INEC guidelines, in spite of the short notice.

However, he lamented that the INEC time table has not given the party the adequate time to sensitise its teeming supporters but explained that the reason why the party executive called for emergency meeting was to reach out with the stakeholders and put in place appropriate mechanism for peaceful atmosphere during the primaries.

On the same note, Engr. Adaji while speaking at the day one of the on going collection of Chairman nomination and expression of interest form, enjoined the aspirants to play by the rules of the game and also put party supremacy at the peak of all their decisions if elected into the office.

He also urged the aspirants to put the interest of party members at heart and to stop use and dump syndrome.
